Porter denied even knowing about the rumours until a month ago..... Why did he engage his lawyer 4 months ago then?
Porter denied any more contact with the lady, after their debating time in 1988..... but he had dinner with her in the 90's, and also their mutual friend (the macquarie managing director (so reasonably of good standing)) had been talking to him about the lady for 30 years.
So... Porter has been lying at least a couple of times imho.
Doesn't give him much credibility.
Doesn't pass the pub test I'm afraid.
There should be an inquiry, to clear his name.... otherwise he will be a weight around the Coalition neck.
