I suggest that you may be wrong. I believe that Porter had a good case and had every chance of winning. It was probably a case of the financial might of the ABC against an expensive personal cost for Porter. I also believe that this would have been a long drawn out case that would be made top news during a looming election campaign and that he was pressured to get it out of the way "for the good of the party".

Politics has become a very dirty battle and, with the public funded ABC on the side of Labor, the Greens and the Woke brigade, the Government doesn't want to give the opposition any more ammunition than necessary.
