POSCO ESM, a subsidiary of POSCO, will establish a lithium refining plant that can produce 40,000 tons of lithium annually in Gwangyang Yulchon Industrial Complex in March next year. Combined with the existing Gumi plant, the company will be able to produce 62,000 tons of cathode materials. This is enough to make 1 million electric vehicle batteries.
