3M upgraded to buy at Citi

NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- 3M Co. (MMM 79.68, +2.57, +3.33%) was upgraded Wednesday to buy from hold at Citi Investment Research. "3M's internal execution has improved and we believe the company can grow organically in line or faster than the group over the next 9 to 12 months while delivering superior financial returns," said analyst Jeffrey Sprague in a note to investors. Citi raised its price target to $92 from $84. Shares of 3M rose 1.4% in premarket trading to $78.15.
