THEY LAUNCHED THE JUJUY SALES EXPANSION PROJECT

Governor Gerardo Morales led the launch of the new phase of development of the Jujuy Sales plant located in the Salar de Olaroz, a process that will reposition Jujuy's productive capacity on the world stage.

Also present were the Minister of Infrastructure, Public Services, Land and Housing, Jorge Rizzotti; the president of the board of Drinking Water of Jujuy, Víctor Galarza; the Secretary of Mining and Hydrocarbons, Miguel Soler; the Secretary of Indigenous Peoples, Alejandra Liquín; the President of JEMSE, Carlos Oehler; the Director of Orocobre, Martín Pérez de Solay; the Corporate Director of Operations of Orocobre, Hersen Porta; the General Manager of Operations, Francisco Torres; workers and technical staff of Sales de Jujuy.

Morales pondered the decision to expand the productive project from 17,500 to 42,500 tons by 2021, with a projection of approximately 300 million dollars.

Regarding the quality standards of lithium carbonate, Morales said that "we should be proud of our work together with the communities and the large number of Jujuian operators in the company", with special emphasis on the "high industrial technology we have for production ”.

Pérez de Solay, in turn, said that the Sales expansion project starts in 2018 and since then produces lithium carbonate for consumers worldwide for large glass, ceramic and battery industry Like all kinds of electronic.

"Today Sales is exporting some 12 thousand tons of lithium carbonate with great success worldwide," he said.
