My first year schedule had deductions like;

Depn plant and equip $1,727
Low value pool items $389
Capital works $3,942

Totaling $6,057 of non cash deductions reducing over about 12 years to about $3,949, ie, after a few years just the capital works deduction is left.

It adds up and is all non cash deductions, the best ones.

This is just a modest home with about $171,000 of building costs originally. You can also choose between diminishing cost or prime cost methods.
