Hardman had only a relatively small interest in what seems likly to be (based on the most recent seismic) small fields. Hardman got involved before this seismic, when all there was was two large salt domes with old seismic that did not give any info as to what was underneath.
At that stage, the two Gabon fields seemed quite attractive being between large producing fields and close to established infrastructre - and in shallow water.
However, on a risk/reward basis - it seems like a good swap to me - and Hardman don't have to contribute to any further exploration expenditure. Fusion only paid about $US .5 mill for there share - again making this swap good value.
