Sharetrader, you just highlighted the risk of buying options and exercising them. There is a week, often 2 weeks or more that you have no control over your shares. As you have seen in the time you have purchased those shares to the time they have been exercised, your net return is now negative. Now the movement this time has been fairly ordered, but at a time when a price sensitive announcement is imminent, it can be a very risky play to be left without control of those shares for the sake of a couple of clicks. Not a real concern to an investor (who is positive for its future) but definitely risky for traders.
