Sapex says there's potential for 10 - 30 TCF of coal seam gas in the Arckaringa Basin.
Origin says 1 BCF = 1.045 PJ
So, 1 TCF = 1,045 PJ, 10 TCF = 10,450 PJ and 30 TCF = 31,350 PJ
Origin, the largest holder of coal seam gas reserves and contingent resources in Australia, has 3P (proven, probable and possible) reserves of 10,122 PJ, a contingent resource of 13,497 PJ and prospective resources of 17,947 PJ.
Obviously it’s early days for Sapex and we don’t even know the gas content of the coal; it's in the middle of nowhere with no infrastructure or pipelines. But 10 - 30 TCF is a lot of gas!
