Summary Announcement. Zimplats. Possible Alternative Offer to Minorities

Late last Friday, Zimplats released the following statement.


Zimplats advises that it has received notification from Barbican Holdings, a financial services group listed on the Zimbabwe Stock Exchange, that it is to make a counter offer to purchase the shares held by minority shareholders of Zimplats at a price of A$5.00 per share.


Zimplats is not in receipt of any documentation other than a letter to this effect and has been advised that documentation is to be prepared shortly and dispatched to shareholders together with all the relevant details.


Zimplats has requested Barbican to furnish details of the financing arrangements that have been put in place to cover the offer.

Until Zimplats receives the relevant offer documentation and confirmation of funding arrangements, shareholders are advised to exercise care in dealing in their Zimplats shares and to refrain from selling into the Implats offer until further information is available.
