Hi Pear -
It’s not an Asset purchase per se - it’s the resolution of the Brazil dealings that have been going on for years which have created so much excitement, disappointment, uncertainty, frustration, etc. which have been the root cause (in my opinion) of the share price decline.
Therefore, the news itself of any deal should be helpful.
The company has assets that are progressing such as the deep water drilling plans w/Tullow in Peru in 2020 and the FPSO plans for Echidna, etc..... but these aren’t making the headlines - everything about this company is revolving around the Brazil gossip so therefore, the most important thing to restore the company’s image is for a deal to be announced.
This subject isn’t about valuation - it’s about emotion. We can discuss valuation after we know what the deal looks like.
