This is not financial advice, but just notification of possible upcoming changes, if you are not aware of them. The Labor Party in Australia now has a policy to tax distribution payments from discretionary/family trusts at 30%. This would include distributions to charitable organisations. We are considering moving a number of shares out of our Trust while they are worth less, so as to minimise CGT obligations.
