    Sorry doc.. I feel for you as a shareholder... and agree that any cyanide leaching would be bad news for both local and the company, either a physical or psychological harm.

    500mmm of rainfall over 24hr is well exceeded the 0.5% annual probability flood for the region. Most of the isolated mining dams in Australia are designed to pass the 1% flood as the minimum design standard...

    Shutting it down and put on care and maintenance is not a simple task because of the liability. Perhaps keep it under check and operation would be a cheaper solution for the company.

    Now I understand why management cannot simply just shut down Gold Ridge mine and walk away... Its of of those natural disaster risk and bad luck.... Good luck holders..
