You trying to rewrite history ? Abbott won because of the dysfunctional Labor government at the time, in fact, Abbott tried to be popular with everybody but promising all sort of goodies to the people.
He was thrown out by his own party when he broke all those promises and when it was apparent that he had become stinking unpopular with the people with his 2014 Budget based on broken promises.
