Rare earths miner Lynas Corp sank as much as 17 per cent to nearly a two-year low of A$0.735, which Octa Phillip dealer Will Cleland said was probably due to selling after Goldman Sachs lowered its price target on the stock and end-of-financial-year stop-loss selling.
A spokesperson for Lynas said there was no new information from the company that would be causing the selling.
The shares were last down 5.6 per cent at A$0.84. 0507 GMT
