    If a second strike does occur there will be a lot of media coverage which will destroy reputations and trust in the directors.

    No it won't. Most of the time a 2nd strike doesn't even conclude in a successful resolution for a spill. And if it does, the directors get re-elected and it goes on as if nothing ever happened. It will end up a minor inconvenience that's all.
