I didn't tell him to sell it did I? It's already past the stage where you should have sold. But if it is like you said, an "investment" surely you wouldn't invest on the ATH? last time I checked thats not how investing is done.
But there is no need to be stupid in investing either, just because you look for the longterm goals that dosen't mean you can't sell it to buy back at a better price.
