I am actually surprised that it is a couple weeks until the May trading update. This is unusual. When you look at their past trading updates, it tends to be one week after the end of the calendar month. So I was expecting it to be released on Tuesday when trading commenced again. That it is a couple weeks away to me suggests that there might be something out of the ordinary about the update - that it is not just the trading update. Why else would it take so long to finalise what are really just administrative figures readily generated? Is it to account for the acquisition and what that means for its accounting treatment? As we all know, there is a continuous disclosure obligation for Z1P to update the market as soon as they have such data - so why would they wait a couple more weeks. Very interested in knowing everyone's thoughts and analysis on this!
