You may have missed my point. It doesn't matter what form of power generation is involved. The annual energy storage capacity of the battery production of a Gigafactory is very very small in comparison to the energy consumed in the world, even on an hourly basis. The terminology in this industry is based in hype, the industry is based on hype, it is still very small fry. Just all part of a bubble cycle in the stock market.
500,000 cars per year out of the Tesla towards the end of the decade is nothing when you consider there are over a billion cars in the world (that's 0.05% of the cars in the world per annum) and if we don't figure out how to recycle some of these batteries we are going to create more pollution problems. Solar might be clean but battery material production and disposal isn't yet. Esh
