The shire pool is heated by thermal rocks underground. Manono is to be powered by hydropower. This writer would suggest all these sources of power and heat also produce large amounts of CO2 in the processing and manufacturing stage. They are a lot less polluting than using fossil fuels over their life time. Solar and wind is the cheapest way to produce power so that is how power will be generated in the future. Negates all of the points made by that writer.
