I could suggest that the board is relyng on ambitious valuations etc, but they would be putting themselves in harm's way.....unless they have really odd advice and/or think it's better to hang on and try to improve or tidy a past that already implicates them (such a sentiment would not apply to the new directors - but then again they're not responsible for the past). Got me intrigued. Without disclosure of figures (and this is a real hard-wired MFS tradition) we don't know for sure. Change of name; no change of habit.
MJS' comments are sound but is the board hiding behind 'too early to tell/further work is required' accounting advice. Without any honest communication about this we're all still in the dark.
