What happens if there is a bush fire and the trees get burnt, do they pay back all the offsets the trees generated or just $x/per tonne CO2 emitted in the fire?
What if government says only trees planted post legislation can be used in offset accounting? I have a tree and I know someone who has heaps of trees, but money doesn't grow on them.
