methinks the biggest issue for COZ and a few other is the carbon farming initiative will be based on the CPRS legislation which will require the calculations of tonnes sequestered to be based on NCAS which is quite conservative. To be of real value the govt needs to ensure that any AAU they allocate is converted to an ERU to broaden the market scope. IF we go down the JI road then look for a lot more competitors in this space from foreign investors buying land for trees , although a combination of sustainable farming and carbon would be more profitable. The JI will also take time to organise and get credits issued and could push back approval times as more applications are made.
Having said that COZ is a good outfit with good people so I am sure they can see the risk and will address it, they survived where so many have failed.
Still gotta get the legislation passed
