https://cdn.ans.org/policy/statements/docs/ps45-bi.pdfThis was written well before Russia invaded the Ukraine, things have changed dramatically, mining takes years to ramp up, an urgency has evolved, reworking the tails is much less time involved, besides they already have a plant at Wilmington and one that wont need conversion if the use the tails material in the interim from Paducah and when Wilmington can separate out the components of UNF which is not too far away IMHO and GEH have perfected a method of continual assay of enrichment (Radmass) there will be more than enough enriched Uranium for the US, necessity is the mother of all invention and the US had a head start anyway, with PRISM, that is when GEH will use Silex tech for enrichment, it will no longer be part of GLE in my opinion GLE will walk away and Silex will collect royalties, it will have done is intended use of proving the commercial viability to allow Cameco to get it,s extra percentage in GLE and it will have provided some HALEU in my opinion in the interim, but I'm also thinking GEH/GNF-A will end up being the owner and operator for use of enrichment of Uranium extracted from LEU and make fuel for the Natrium reactors up to 8% HALEU which they are already licensed for, I think Centrus may have supplied the initial HALEU but GLE may have supplied some too?
I can see no other viable alternative that will fit that timeframe for the US and maybe even the UK as well!
