lol - but watso used to go fishing from the bunbury bridge.. anyway, before fishing lines etc, watso , as a kid recalls going fishing with his father - half way between ascot and garrett road bridge - watso has no idea of what is there these days, but back then , there was a track which went along the river side.... anyway, watso's father had a bit of bamboo, and at the end was some thread, and a hook, which was wrapped around the end - that is the way it must have been done in europe.
frankly - fishing was a waste of time and as a kid, watso tried every spot from the bunbury bridge, up to guildford.. watso lived in belmont. these days, a kid would not be bothered to negotiate gt eastern hwy.
aghhh yes - watso recalls the rubbish tip at herrison island - just like the rubbish tip near garret road bridge - which is now a beautiful bit of real estate... lol - the times of being a kid, and going down to the rubbish tip and trawling through the rubbish - lol - they did not have kerbside back then
