Appreciated recent posts considering the relationship between Avita's Recell and Osiris' Grafix. Been a relatively long term holder of both stocks and see them focusing on different wound care situations. Clearly, ReCell is great for burns and its cost is substantially lower than Grafix. The later costs about $2,000 US for a square inch application. Osiris is a much more mature company with multiple approved FDA approved products. Osiris is very sharply focused on the US market and for the time being has ignored Europe and other non-US markets, except Canada and New Zealand for a totally different product (Prochymal for Graft vs. Host Disease, GvHD which saves children's lives). I spoke with some Osiris officers and they do not see Recell as a competitive technology. With regard to Osir having doubled a few days ago, from about $11 to $27, this is what happens when good news such as a medical breakthrough is disclosed. I expect/hope this will also be in AVH's future down the road.
