Production Technician (Electrical)

Ventracor is an international medical device company, headquartered in Sydney and operating in Asia, USA and Europe, that manufactures the VentrAssist™ Left Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD), an implantable blood pump designed as long term therapy for people in end stage heart failure.

The VentrAssist™ is a new third generation implantable heart device primarily designed as an alternative to heart transplantation for people with cardiac failure. Due to ongoing success and growth, an exciting new opportunity has arisen for a Production Technician (Electrical) within our Manufacturing Group.

Key Challenges:


Assembly and testing of controllers, pumps, batteries, battery chargers and laptops;
Rework and retesting of printed circuit board assemblies;
Rotor Magnetisation;
Identify areas of operational process improvement.


Skills and Experience Required:


IPC 610 Class 3 soldering and inspection qualified;
Ability to work with a steady hand (must have extremely good hand/eye co-ordination) and be very patient;
High degree of mechanical aptitude with excellent problem solving skills;
Toolmaking;
Familiarity with cGMP for medical devices, clean room practices, gowning, etc;
Trained in (and be familiar with) the use of microscopes;
A reasonable level of computer skills.
