I'm a grain grower in WA. Potash is a limiting factor in higher yields in many soil types in the WA wheatbelt, particularly the higher rainfall zones which generally are the higher yielding areas of WA. Potash is an expensive fertilizer input , but has proven to be worth the investment in many trials throughout the wheatbelt. I'm not sure if this use in WA will be a huge benefit to BHP though.
