Market cap, shares on issue and share price are the basics in share market investing / trading.
Market capitalisation is the reflection of the number of shares on issue multiplied by the current share price. In order of importance, try to look at the market cap of a company first when considering investments as opposed to the share price.
For example:
- A company could be listed at 0.5c and have a market cap of 20 million.
- A different company to the one listed above may be listed at 15c and have a market cap of 20 million.
You sound relatively new to the share market (just an observation and assumption - I could be wrong). I definitely recommend DYOR (doing your own research) and learning up on these basics.
