Potential confirmed at Eritrean zinc-gold-copper prospect
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ASX-listed gold and mineral exploration company Sub-Sahara Resources announced on Monday that its joint -venture partner, Sunridge Gold had confirmed the potential of the Emba Derho prospect, in Eritrea, which forms part of the Asmara project in Eritrea as a large, bulk mineable zinc, gold and copper deposit.
Sub-Sahara Resources is focused on gold and copper exploration in Eritrea and Tanzania.
Earlier, the company announced that assay results from an additional 19 diamond-drill holes continued to increase the size of the deposit and that drilling had intersected massive sulphide mineralisation over some 900-m strike length.
Most of the holes were successful in extending the deeper copper mineralised zone about 150 m to the north and northeast over a strike length of over 400 m, within the larger Emba Derho massive sulphide mineralization, the statement said.
Drill hole ED-065-D had successfully extended the zinc mineralisation to the south in the central zone.
Emba Derho is located only 6 km to the west of the high-grade zinc-gold Adi Nefas VMS deposit and the Gupo gold deposit.
With the discovery at Emba Derho there are now four significant zones of mineralisation within the Asmara project; Debarwa, Adi Nefas, Gupo Gold and Emba Derho, the statement said.
