If the Board didn't go for Daunia (met coal, adjacent to Winchester South ie stacks of synergies) they would have rocks in their heads (pardon the pun). Imagine not having to market / develop Winchester South until the coal had run out of Daunia and you just roll the sales contracts over to the existing customers, as well as drive the trucks and diggers (not to mention all the staff) over the fence. Ching-ching.
