Loccend - I agree with your point, but the reason why a vaccine is so urgent against AIDS is it has a mortality rate of 100% ie. Everybody who is exposed dies eventually(Mankind has NEVER known a virus like this). Vaccinations expose people to a virus so their immune systems can learn how to defeat it. As you said, the only time a vaccination doesn't work is if the virus mutates. If 95% contract SARS and survive, they are effectively vacinated, are should not be at further risk from SARS unless a major new mutation occurs.
