All, I thought it was a good idea to create a new discussion thread for Government deals and discussions. CL8 (DMC) has eluded to government deals on multiple occasions over the last 6+months. If a Government deal was to be clinched it would seriously be the game changer.....

Looking at the options currently out there, it would appear NSW State Government has made the largest movement into this sphere thus far, VIC State appears somewhat behind. NSW is really the largest whale in the ocean for DMC so RE-reading previous announcements (government and DMC) it would appear to me at least we could have deal imminent.

The Fleetmanagers contract is what we're after, NSW are wanting to offload 22000 vehicles, you could jam them into auction houses and lose considerable money on them or make some money on them by renting them out straight away and then drip feed them into auction houses as they mature in age.

SATE OF PLAY :- The contract was switched from Statefleet to SGfleet and Smartfleet, how do those companies then rent them out rapidly? We'd be talking about 6000 vehicles a year??

    DMC Announcements
"The Australasian Fleet Management Association will hold its annual conference in Melbourne on 21 & 22 April 2016. DriveMyCar and GoGet will co-present one of the four Plenary Sessions to be attended by all delegates on the topic of car sharing and how it can be of benefit to fleet managers. This will be an excellent opportunity for DriveMyCar to educate the fleet industry on the DriveMyCar platform and how it can monetise underutilised vehicles and supply additional vehicles at a lower cost to corporate and government customers."

"The DriveMyCar business unit has signed an agreement for the licensing of its peer-to-peer car rental technology platform to facilitate the booking of vehicles managed by a third party fleet manager. The licensing agreement involves the development of some additional specific functionality for the third party client to enable them to list vehicles, process bookings, manage approvals and view reporting. In addition, the licence allows for the third party vehicles to be made available for rent on the DriveMyCar platform when they are not otherwise utilised, thus increasing the available supply of vehicles to DriveMyCar customers. In recognition for the provision of the development services, DriveMyCar will earn an upfront fee for functionality development and will also receive ongoing fees as a percentage of revenue for all bookings processed by the fleet manager through the system. This licensing agreement takes advantage of the investment already made in the DriveMyCar platform and delivers additional revenue without increasing cost of sales or any material additional ongoing expenses."

"In late May 2016, a pilot commenced with a corporate partner to offer their customers, who are vehicle owners, the opportunity to list their under-utilised vehicles on DriveMyCar with a view to generating additional revenue. Early results are promising with a strong increase in calculator enquiries in May 2016 largely attributed to this initiative. The results of the pilot will be reviewed and if successful, expanded further."

"The government is also proposing to use car-share companies like GoGet in metro areas as an alternative to government pool cars in a bid to save money.
DFSI staff were the guinea pigs in a three-month trial earlier this year using GoGet and Hertz24/7 share-cars.
Mr Perrottet said that staff involved in the trial “reported a high degree of satisfaction”, used cars near their homes and were pleased they did not have to fill in log books.
“We should be looking use these new economy services wherever it is feasible and practical,” said Mr Perrottet. “Car sharing is flexible, cost effective and convenient.”
