As I said on my Post #:53422289 on May 26 I was making some research about the Windimurra project (tenement E59/2431) on GeoView WA website and I said I found many pegmatites (swarms) in the area. (I even posted some information about it on my post #:44553592 on May 20 2020).
I have identified the pegmatites from GeoView WA (gov.) site and marked them by blue lines on the map below. These are known and marked in gov. maps as lepidolite pegmatites.
It was also mentioned on the anns today (but no details were given) ;
"... a pegmatite swarm is mapped by GSWA (1:250,000 and 1:100,000 geological mapping), (Figure 5). The pegmatites visited are confirmed to be LCT type pegmatites, with lepidolite being the most apparent mineral identified in the weathered outcrop).The pegmatite swarm consists of a central northeast striking, shallow northwest dipping pegmatite, which outcrops over a strike extent of over 500m. Several smaller sub-parallel and cross-cutting pegmatites surround it.
This is the map I have made below. We can see there is a pegmatite swarm at the middle (arrow points it) and many others inside the circled area. The company says 500m but I can see pegmatites inside the 5km circle.
As company said these are LCT (Lithium-Ceisium-Tantalum) pegmatites. That the first attraction point for to look at them.
The second point is; there is a pegmatite swarm there. It is not easy to find these kinds of pegmatite swarms everywhere. That also makes the area very attractive. (PLS, LTR and some large resources initially started their exploration works by pegmatites swarms).
Yes they are marked as lepidolite pegmatites on gov. maps but you never know what you will find there. We will talk about this issue below later on.
The company gave the map below on today's anns. See the circled area referring to my map above.
MERIDIAN 120's Wyemandoo Project next to ARN's Project has high grade rock chip lithium sampling assays
Another interesting point I found out that a private company, Meridian 120 has Wyemandoo Project there and has been doing some work there. They are after the tungsten.
Click here --> Meridian 120 – Wyemandoo Project
They are after tungsten but they discovered some pegmatite swarms in a small area (in comparison to what ARN have at SW). They named it as LOOP PEGMATITES. Interestingly these pegmatite swarm is not marked on GeoView WA maps.
As you can see pegmatite swarm actually goes into ARN tenements where Meridian didin't make any assays.
The map below is from Meridian 120 web site. (red marking is mine)
The below is a close lookup to Loop Pegmatite swarm and it's from Meridian web site again.
The rock chip sampling results are quite good (it's on their web site).
On their web site Meridian 120 says;
"Pegmatite composite rock chip samples show lithium values up to 2.1% Li2O and have highly anomalous values of tin, tantalum (to 258 ppm Ta) and rubidium (to 1.4% Rb)".
"Lepidolite is present. Other lithium minerals (petalite?) may also occur"
(Btw, I'd love to have some very low iron petalite lithium. Even its 4% concentrate would be technical grade and would be sold by a premium higher than SC6 spod concentrate I guess).
IF THERE IS LEPIDOLITE PEGMATITES THERE
THE CHANCE OF FINDING SPODUMENE PEGMATITES ARE HIGH (imo)
There is very extensive occurrences of lepidolite pegmatites at Pilgangoora project area of Pilbara Minerals. Even PLS was planning to produce lithium carbonate from those lepidolite pegmatites as you can see on the anns in 2014.
Same for LTR's Kathleen Valley project. The pegmatites at the south are all lepidolite bearing.
What we need to understand here is that ARN should make an extensive exploration activity at the project area and try to find out if there re any spodumene bearing pegmatites. As we saw in LTR's case, the spod bearing pegmatites might be small as outcrops but they might be buried under the ground and may not be easily seen. In LTR's case in Sept. 2018, the total resource was 21mt after exploration and drilling for 2 years but then it wemt up to 159mt and still open at depth and NW (not drilling anymore for now).
When I overlapped Meridian 120's mapped pegmatites on the Geoview WA maps, I can see the pegmatites are trending in to ARN tenements.
ARN has mapped nothing there so far, so we can't see what they have got there.
I think it is time to wait for ARN's exploration on Windimurra tenements. There maybe other mineral occurrences other than lithium as well.
Good luck to all.
