@GregLPeters ..." I'm going to go with what AS and the company are saying "
Great!!
The company has clearly stated "creates ozone in ambient air"!!
The company has never stated HOW they would remove residual ozone from the air, in fact the diagrams on both pg 5 and pg 13 of the 17/3/21 announcement clearly state "creates ozone in ambient air".
Absolutely nowhere in that announcement is there any mention of any filter or catalyzer to neutralize residual ozone, or other aerosol chemicals created in cascade reactions from interacting with free radicals produced by the FRG unit.
No mention of how the unit gets rid of any residuals at all!!
Then in the 27/5/21 presentation the only mention of "air disinfection" for occupied rooms is on pg 9 where it states the device could be used in "ozone-less" disinfection mode. Considering the same company states VERY CLEARLY that the FRG unit "creates ozone in ambient air" and state that the device has no consumables other than air and power, it is very hypocritical about what is being created.
If it is just air into the unit and they claim "creates ozone in ambient air" then how can there be no dangerous by-products when ozone is clearly a harmful product? Plus there is no mention of any type of filter or catalyzer, (ie no way to get rid of the ozone created but not used!!)
The companies own announcements are the clear red flags, and choosing to ignore them will not make the investment any better.
From the US EPA ..." When inhaled, ozone can damage the lungs. Relatively low amounts can cause chest pain, coughing, shortness of breath and throat irritation."
https://www.epa.gov/indoor-air-quality-iaq/ozone-generators-are-sold-air-cleaners
"Ozone generators that are sold as air cleaners intentionally produce the gas ozone. Often the vendors of ozone generators make statements and distribute material that lead the public to believe that these devices are always safe and effective.."
Does the above statement from the US EPA remind you of anything?? There are quite a few people here on this forum that have been led to believe the ozone generator in ambient air is safe, yet Purifloh have not produced one shred of evidence that what comes out of the unit is safe (as in Independent testing!!)
Purifloh have had the rights to the FRG tech for 7 years, yet have never released any Independent testing results about residual gases. That is a HUGE red flag by itself.
Surely the safety of a new device would be the very first thing tested for??
The FRG unit probably does a great job disinfecting things in unoccupied rooms, but there are already ozone generators, hydroxyl generators and combinations of the 2 in the market place, so the FRG unit will be in stiff competition in a crowded small market place. Where's the opportunity??
