Story in today's West Australian Newspaper again drawing attention to the attempted QR push into WA's Pilbara region.
The article suggested that the WA Govt see QR as a viable proposition for providing rail solutions in the Pilbara for a bunch of budding producers, and that they might be used to break the hold of BHP/RIO/FMG over rail pathways to ports.
They specifically mentioned AGO in the article as perhaps teaming up with QR, and reiterated that production volumes around 12Mt p/a could be enough to justify building new rail pathways.
I reckon AQA will definitely be talking to QR as a potential solution to take over & run the Anketell Rail line which would spare AQA a massive amount of capital and (of course) open up plenty of other budding producers in the West Pilbara - one being IOH at Bungaroo South.
