George Jones was chairman of both Gindalbie and Sundance at the time - as he is now. He proposed a merger between the two companies. Sundance shares rocketed on that news. The Gindalbie shareholders made such a fuss that the merger was called off. They didn't want their future tied up with such a speculative company. Sundance shares crashed back down once the merger was called off.

I know this because I held a bucket full of SDl at the time and thinking that George could do no wrong stayed in when I should have cashed in.

Goes to prove that everyone can make mistakes (including GJ).
