The same strategy pursued by Dominion Mining when establishing the Challenger mine in South Australia perhaps 40 years ago. They had sufficient funds to mine the known deposit and return the capital invested, ie break even, but not enough to first investigate the ground below the deposit. The Challenger mine in the end went down to about 2 kms. Made a lot of money.
