If you pay a humongous tax bill then you have made a super humongous profit… don’t complain about that!
Splitting the company will reduce its value and create tax issues for the company. It simply can’t be done without creating a current tax liability for the company that would be hundreds of millions of dollars because you are transferring value to a new entity. So NEU makes a profit when transferring out the assets upon which the tax must be paid.
