It's amazing what happens when the BoM whisper the C word...

It's amazing what happens when the BoM whisper the C word (cyclone). Every weather critic appears out of the woodwork to spread fire, brimstone and the fear of Lucifer into the minds of young and old. Reality is, as V777 rightly posted is companies have contingencies and plan for events like this "should" they arise. I have lived and worked in the Pilbara for the last ten years. WHen the warning goes out we all get to work implementing strategies that are already on standby so that when the wind and rain is over we can get back to work as quickly as possible with minimal disruption.

It's a funny thing when you walk into the shops only to find every shelf of perishables completely bare..........and why would you buy Bulk milk and meat when the power is almost garenteed to go out for a few days?

Yeh every now and then we get a cracker and get flooded out for a few days or a bit of wind damage but the world doesn't stop. We get busy and get it all cranked up again in no time.
