The promising announcements that have been cascading from Solagran in recent weeks re the efficacy of its various Bioeffectives are one thing, but from a shareholder point of view, yesterday's Licence and Supply Agreement with Cardinal Health is the clincher.

As Dr Vagif Soultanov, Solagran’s Chairman, commented: “…This Agreement will help transform Solagran from an R & D biotech into a revenue generating company.”

The significance of such an agreement is no doubt lost on the day-trading denizens of Hot Copper, but just stop for a moment and consider: Cardinal Health Inc is the largest provider of health care products and services in the world! Cardinal currently manufactures for 9 out of the top 10 pharmaceutical companies and for many leading Natural Medicines suppliers throughout the world, and has annual revenues in excess of $US 50 billion per year, operations on five continents and more than 55,000 employees! It’s a biggie all right! And it has taken Solagran under its wing.

Cardinal has said it will identify third party brand marketers for the range of finished form products (natural pharmaceuticals, nutritional supplements and topical products) which it will develop and manufacture from Solagran’s Bioeffectives.

The Agreement covers Australia and six Asian countries and targets retail segments worth an estimated AU$1billion per year in Australia, and estimated at US$17.7 billion globally!!!
