There is 300 million in lost tax revenue to claw back from Acacia......free carry of 16% is the new mining terms.... job done.
The key take away here is a deal has been done...the GoT is open for business and Barrick clearly WANT to be there.
This is great news for all those wanting to invest in Tanzania. The Govt has a new mining code, is open for business plus has also sent a clear message.....don’t defraud us or evade tax otherwise you will be punished.
I would expect no less from the Australian government....
