    re: powell briefing - to tarton Actually you can post any profanity on Hot Copper as long as you mis-spell it or use a foreign language. Sometimes you can not post innocuous words like sat^urday so ...... all a bit silly really.

    Speaking of silly, from fallguy;
    "Politicians that deceive their own people with draconian schemes to portray enemies as demons and inhuman in order to sway public opinion are far more dangerous than corrupt corporate leaders wasting invetsors' money.

    There is a belief that the public in a democracy are untrustworthy and must be manipulated. Nationalistic and patriotic brainwashing from birth is merely a tool that lessens questioning of one's countries motives. Media perform as information assimilators and spindoctors - politicians employ journalists as spindoctors. It's a very sick, very distorted world we live in - thankfully we have not sunk so low as the US."

    Hey fallguy, you know what ? In my experience most people are far more interested in what is happening with their money than something that is happening in a foreign country. That is human nature and something you do not seem to understand.
    Generally people get the governments and politicians that they deserve. Right and wrong, morality etc does not come into it and policies will reflect self-interest first. That is how things work all over the world.
