Lots of changes afoot with some impressive heavy hitter FFI staff additions and non stop MOU announcements. All the building blocks are falling into place for FMG to use FFI to transition and capture a big slice of the H2 and renewable pie. I think once these MOU get up and running and become profitable and start adding to FMG bottom line we are gong to be looking at a SP and dividend re rate far higher than today's figures.

Another big development happening is the emerging H2-Tech which instead of using a fossil fuel engine as a range extender a small fuel cell will will added to passenger electric cars to extend range to 800km. Electric cars will only need a battery a fraction of their current size by using a fuel cell as a range extender. Therefore greatly reducing the weight and the manufacturing cost while simultaneously reducing fill times to current fossil refueling time frames.

While the production Scenic is expected to sit above the Megane E-Tech in the company’s EV range, the concept has a novel hydrogen fuel cell range-extender plug-in hybrid setup dubbed H2-Tech.

It features a 160kW electric motor driving the front wheels. The motor hooked up to a small-ish 40kWh battery pack, and an underfloor 16kW hydrogen fuel cell system.

The fuel cell system acts a range extender that charges the battery pack rather than driving the wheels. This layout is similar to setup used by the now-departed Holden Volt and BMW i3 Rex, although those two cars employed a small petrol engine to recharge its batteries.

Renault claims the Scenic Vision can travel 800km on a full charge, and with only one quick five minute hydrogen refuelling stop.
