    Yes, and anyway the number one priority for emissions reduction is the rich countries, and China has to be included in this no matter how they try to get out of it. I'm also interested to see the tipping point when the price fall of renewables overtakes fossil fuel options. It's getting close for cars. The new generation of "affordable" EVs hitting Australia now is only a few thousand dollars more than a high-spec Corolla. When they get cheaper, you won't be able to afford NOT to have an EV, especially taking into account maintenance and running costs.

    Developing countries might get to have a couple of years' grace in the overall transition, but they'll be swept along. Also, the damage caused by climate change is likely to hit them harder so that will be an added factor in convincing them.

    Overall, though the progress towards emissions reduction is probably 20 years behind where it needs to be, so who knows how much more procrastination and misinformation there will be before it's taken seriously and all this comes to pass.
