If I read it right the auction next Spring is round two of subsidies to allow future hydrogen producers to receive subsidies to bridge the gap between the cost of producing hydrogen and what it is actually selling for in the market. So it's not "cars, trucks, trains, planes" just yet, not if fueling them is a loss-making proposition. I think her speech needs a reality check, she says the hydrogen economy is "blooming", but it would be more accurate to say it's been "planted", or if you're really keen, "sprouting"... which is still great, but I'm wary of these breathlessly optimistic timelines.
