Liebherr's R 9300 G8 250-tonne excavator was first presented to the mining industry at the 2022 Bauma exhibition in Munich, Germany, then introduced to the market in June 2023.

Fast forward to today and they've developed an electric-drive version that is now available on one of Fortescue's mining sites.

Liebherr Mining are currently working towards offering fossil fuel free solutions for ALL of their products by 2030. Refer to point 4 on page 10 of the report below to see what WAE's involvement will be. Also I highly recommend to have a read of pages 22 & 23 to understand a little more not only about the R 9400 E electric excavator but also how they're converting diesel-drive machines to electric drive and how they're repowering them. WOW, get this, these are able to be completed in a matter of weeks! Not only that, but WAE are not only supplying the batteries for Liebherr's battery-electric trucks, but also the advanced battery analytics and battery management. Game changer!

Here's my question.... is the strategic partnership that Fortescue / WAE formed with Liebherr mining an exclusive partnership agreement for their world-leading electrification, energy storage, and energy management solutions? If so, is it only within Asia Pacific or other jurisdictions as well?
