Cost of production is actually very easy to work out.
it takes 55kwh per kg, that's a fact. Some improvement to come but don't bank on it.
solar is $16/MWh, that's a fact.

and can come down.
so 55*$16/1000==88c per kg for production OPEX.
add some CApex ( electroylers, bop) and you're still around the $2 mark.
