LNP are just doing this to prolong not spending money on renewables, nuclear will never happen on the east coast. It's way too expensive and it will take too long to get up and running. The reactors have to be placed coastal for water sources, there's no way you could have something like this near a heritage-listed site like the great barrier reef. The NIMBYs are opposing windmills, imagine the stink up with nuclear power.
