Ok what can we deduce from this?
If you read the article below, it highlights that FMG will initially purchase 120 haul trucks from Liebherr as part of their fleet replacement. That equates to 45% of of FMGs fleet. Then there's all the other heavy haul equipment not factored in. Fortescue have highlighted that their total spend on fleet as part of their decarbonisation plan will be US$1.3 billion.
What split percentage is going to be key here. Converting from diesel to electric battery is going to be an important aspect of the partnership. This is why I've been highlighting why this partnership is so important. With commercial scale reaching other players in this space Fortescue can potentially offset a lot of their decarbonisation spend.
